Varnishing typography is a premium print finishing technique where a liquid silicone or acrylic coating is applied to printed text to enhance its visual appeal and tactile feel. It is most frequently used on premium / high-end packaging to make letters pop against a background.

Blister varnishing is the process of applying a specialized, heat-activated adhesive liquid coating to a paperboard backing card. This allows a pre-formed plastic "bubble" or cavity (typically PET, rPET, or PVC) to securely fuse to the card when exposed to heat and pressure. It serves a dual purpose: acting as a protective high-gloss or matte finish for printed graphics and functioning as the critical bonding agent that holds retail blister packaging together.
