What type of format if you need to send design ?
To avoid production errors with die-cut packaging and low migration inks, your file must include:
- Vector Die-Lines: Die-cut paths must be created as vector lines, not raster images.Place these on a separate, named layer (e.g., "Die Line" or "Cut Path").Assign them a unique Spot Color (often a bright magenta or cyan) to distinguish them from the artwork.
- CMYK Color Mode: Never send files in RGB. Offset printing uses the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) model. Converting from RGB yourself prevents unexpected color shifts.
- 300 DPI Resolution: Any photographic or "raster" elements within your design must be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) to ensure sharp printing.
- Bleed and Safe Zones:Bleed: Extend background colors at least 3mm (1/8") past the cut line to prevent white edges if the paper shifts.Safe Zone: Keep all critical text and logos at least 3mm inside the cut line to avoid them being trimmed off.
- Outlined Fonts: Convert all text to "outlines" (vector paths) before saving. This ensures the printer doesn't need to have your specific fonts installed.
